About me

I have worked at a number of large web and advertising agencies in London on a wide range of projects from internet strategy to global web project.

I have a solid academic background in Experimental Psychology and a PhD in Visual Attention – which means I take user centred design very seriously and normally know how to fix a design that isn’t quite working. Before moving into industry I headed up a user centred systems lab at University College London which covered projects on eye tracking, trust and recommender systems and advanced video compression.

I’m an evangelist of iterative prototyping and a big fan of Persona as both a planning and design tool. I also advocate validation of designs with real users as part of the design process. No matter how close you are to a product the end user is always closer.
