DHL Logistics is the largest logistics organization on the planet, dealing with everything from container and freight movement to specialist Supply Chain services for industries like fashion and pharmaceuticals.
DHL Logistics commissioned LIDA (M&C Saatchi) to increase the number of commercial B2B enquires they were receiving via their website and to make it more effective as a promotional vehicle. The site itself was present in over 150 different countries and reached out to a very wide audience – from those wanting to move small amounts of freight from A-B to international organizations needing to re-structure their Supply Chain.
To engage with these different audiences a web based prototype was created and online testing was performed with participants representing different sized business in EMEA, APAC and the AMERICAS. On the basis of this testing it was realized that smaller organizations had difficulty understanding the Supply Chain services that DHL Logistics could offer them.
Consequently an information architecture for the site was created that introduced these people to these services in a language they could understand.
To increase the number of business leads an in-page contact form was designed asĀ evidence indicated that in-page forms have superior conversion or completion rates.
Sample wireframes and design from the project are shown below.
