ITN Source

ITN have one of the most extensive film archives in the world and as part of the their re-branding exercise they wanted a new website to showcase their archived video material. Framfab/LBi where commissioned to deliver this new platform.

Under the new name “ITN Source” the site needed to give access to multiple archives of content, as well as stock video around particular themes. In addition all new video and rough cuts shot by ITN and Reuters cameramen around the globe should be available on the web within 24 hours.

As well as showcasing the content the new site was also a sales platform that sold video content to other broadcasters for use in films, documentaries and news items. As such it was a significant systems integration project that had to tie together the Video archive with Autonomy (search), a web front end and a Salesforce Backoffice.

My responsibilities in the project covered interface and UX design as well as XML definition and quality of service parameters for video compression.

Sample wireframes and designs from the site are illustrated below.
